It's a great idea for having students analyze a piece of literary work. It could easily be used for Shakespeare as easily as for Cinderella, so don't let the childlike nature of this example fool you! (The constant chirping of the bird on the "z" page got a little annoying and made it hard to read the whole paragraph. Perhaps make it chirp only a few times... or, only when being hovered over.)

Thanks, cmurakami, for the suggestion about the bird. I am new at Etoys, so I'm still learning how to work everything.

In regard to the content, I do actually have my students create books on Of Mice and Men and Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. I simply used "Cinderella" here because it is a story my junior high students are familiar with and enabled me to create an example without taking any ideas away from them for the content of their projects.

Excellent!

We need many more projects like this which show how to use them in the classroom.

Etoys and the use of computers is a new subject for many of us, all ideas are more than welcome!

Bravo, this gets my vote for Weekly WOW!

A great idea to incorporate Etoys into the curriculum and integrate, literature, art, and programming. I will try something like this with my kids.

Plus I learned a new word, xanthocomic, for scrabble, now I just need the right letters and someone to use "ant" in line with a triple word score ;)
